The Annex is part of the original 16th Century Farmhouse which used to house the animals before the rest of the barns were built in the 18th Century.
Entry to the cottage is through its own porch adjacent to the main farmhouse and then through its front door which opens into a fitted kitchen-dining area. We ask that only slippers are worn inside the cottage and that outdoor shoes are left in the porch. The fully fitted kitchen includes ceramic hob and electric oven and separate grill, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and a washer drying machine to keep up with your laundry while you are on holiday. In the dining area is an electric woodburning effect stove fitted into a small inglenook making this a cosy place to eat your meals.
Free Wi-Fi is available in this cottage.
There is a comfortable sitting room with 32″ LCD TV (not shown in the photograph), freeview, DVD player and mini Hi-Fi.
One double bedroom and one twin bedroom lead from the upstairs landing. All mattresses are Silent Night Miracoil 5 and are wonderfully comfortable to give you a good nights sleep. We are not able to re-arrange the beds in the twin bedroom to enable a cot to be erected. A cot will fit in the double bedroom. A hair dryer is available for use during your holiday.
The family bathroom is at the end of the upstairs landing and comprises a bath, a wall mounted shower above the bath at the opposite end to the taps with a glass shower screen, wc, wash basin and heated towel rail.
It is lovely to enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea sitting in the gardens at the picnic tables which have been dotted around for your pleasure. A wooden bench is placed for your exclusive use outside your door against the south facing wall. A lovely spot for a quiet cup of tea.
There is a folder in the cottage full of leaflets giving details of the vast number of sights, attractions and places to visit during your holiday here in North Devon. The cottage also has walking books containing various routes so that you can really explore and enjoy North Devon during your holiday.
The cottage is fully centrally heated with the cost of central heating included in the cottage rental. Between the months of September and May central heating is available in the cottage (for heating times see terms and conditions page). Central heating is switched off from the beginning of June to the end of August. The electric woodburner is always there to provide a warm cosy glow. The sitting room also has a stove effect electric heater. Electricity is included in the cottage rental.
